Client Service Managers

About the role

Hodges & Hergenrader, LLP (H&H) is different from the typical accounting firms you may be used to working with. At H&H, it is our mission to provide small to medium-sized business clients with outstanding proactive advisory, accounting, and tax services so they can manage their businesses more effectively. We serve our clients from the Capital to the Coast with offices located in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with the firm’s clients in an outsourced accountant role using technology
• Coding client transactions and reconciling client accounts in Quickbooks® Online and Desktop
• Aiding clients with Quickbooks® Online
• Using ADP to prepare and process client payroll and W-2s
• Using tax1099 to process 1099s
• Preparing and processing sales tax returns
• Developing a trusted advisor relationship with assigned clients
• Working as part of a team serving clients, providing ongoing advice, insight, and support as needed

Secondary Responsibilities

• Preparing federal and state income tax returns for businesses, individuals, and trusts
• Working with OCR software to streamline individual tax preparation

Necessary Skills

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to interact proactively with client personnel and facilitate open working relationships and service skills
• Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates basic knowledge of client’s businesses
• Understands firm ethics and demonstrates them consistently

Summary of Requirements

Average or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related program
1 or more years in private or public accounting
Strong technology skills using Quickbooks® Online and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, and Excel at a minimum)
Computer proficiency in Creative Solutions Accounting products including UltraTax and Fixed Assets, Quickbooks®, and Checkpoint/RIA research software is a plus
Must have the ability to multi-task and work alone with minimal supervision
Experience in a paperless environment is preferred
Must possess the ability to work as part of a team

Our compensation plans are based on experience. Our benefits include retirement with a company match, health insurance available, paid time off, and remote, hybrid, or in-office work environments are available.

We offer the ability to work part-time or full-time.
