About the role

Client Relationship Consultants build relationships with customers by meeting face to face and engaging them when and where they need to provide the best possible counsel. Responsibilities include assessing and attending to customers’ banking needs, obtaining and processing customer and account information, educating clients on available deposit and loan products and services, and recommending financial solutions based on each customer’s unique goals and needs. Consultants also originate and close consumer loans, open accounts, and open and/or close the branch.

This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record, may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.

This role has multiple levels, open to candidates with 1 to 5 years minimum experience in customer service and sales. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with clients to assess and meet their banking needs.
  • Obtain and process customer and account information.
  • Educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services.
  • Recommend financial solutions tailored to each customer’s unique goals and needs.
  • Originate and close consumer loans.
  • Open and manage customer accounts.
  • Open and/or close the branch as needed.
  • Use and demonstrate digital products and self-service technologies.
  • Participate in sales campaigns and promotions (for higher levels).

Requirements

Basic qualifications for all levels:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Client Relationship Consultant 1

  • Minimum of one to two years of job-related retail banking experience or a combination of experience and training.

Client Relationship Consultant 2

  • Minimum of three to four years of job-related retail banking experience or a combination of experience and training.

Client Relationship Consultant 3

  • Minimum of four to five years of job-related retail banking experience or a combination of experience and training.

Client Relationship Consultant 4

  • Five or more years of job-related retail banking experience or a combination of experience and training.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Skills

  • Proven ability to build and foster client relationships.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures, and support systems.
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital-first mindset.
  • Proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer needs both reactively and proactively.
  • Experience with digital products and self-service technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of all retail products and services (for higher levels).
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $20.25 - $24.75 per hour, based on the primary location. The actual range may differ based on the location of the role.
