About the Role

Serve as the first point of contact for clients, providing prompt and professional service during the onboarding of new clients as well as lifelong relationship management and retention. Work a somewhat complex book of business with higher life counts and exposure into varying account types: fully-insured, level-funded, self-insured, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the placement of new and renewal accounts with carrier partners across Life & Health Insurance lines and products.
  • Act as expert employer resource. Understand account strategy and work to develop proposals, formal presentations and obtain client confirmation on selected plans/products.
  • Review contracts for accuracy and work with carriers to make necessary corrections.
  • Assist with gathering underwriting information and preparing submission materials.
  • Maintain strong carrier relationships to secure competitive quotes and solutions for clients.
  • Ensure the successful renewal and retention of accounts through proactive service and relationship management.
  • Manage annual benefit renewal activities including pricing of benefits programs, coordinating pre-renewal presentation and the renewal action timeline.
  • Coordinate and present at annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Process enrollment changes for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Salesforce/Benefit Point agency management system.
  • Collaborate with Producers, Client Managers, Client Executives and other internal stakeholders to support client needs.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Intermediate understanding of Life & Health insurance concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar agency management systems is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Active Life & Health licenses required; advanced certifications (e.g., CEBS, RHU, REBC) strongly preferred.
