Position Overview
This role serves as a trusted, client-facing HR advisor supporting client organizations across the full employee lifecycle—from hiring through separation. This role partners closely with client leadership to design, implement, and sustain effective HR practices aligned to business strategy, compliance requirements, and workforce needs. This role combines hands-on HR expertise with strategic guidance. The consultant may work remotely and onsite, depending on client need, and is expected to maintain strong relationships while navigating the boundaries of the MSO service model.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned clients, acting as a trusted advisor on people strategy, compliance, and employee relations.
- Build strong relationships with client executives and managers through regular touchpoints, including onsite visits when required.
- Translate client business goals into practical HR recommendations aligned with organizational culture and risk tolerance.
- Advise on recruiting practices, onboarding processes, job design, and workforce planning.
- Provide guidance on performance management, corrective action, and employee relations matters.
- Support termination decisions, documentation, and risk mitigation consistent with applicable laws and the governing service model.
- Support clients with compensation philosophy, job leveling, pay practices, and market alignment (within defined advisory boundaries).
- Develop, review, and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Advise on federal, state, and local employment law compliance, escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately.
- Partner with internal payroll, benefits, and HR operations teams to ensure accurate execution of HR programs.
- Aid clients with benefits administration questions, leave management, and HR system navigation.
- Ensure HR documentation and practices align with service agreements and regulatory requirements.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Active HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRMCP, or SHRMSCP) required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, compliance, and policy development.
- Demonstrated experience in a strategic HR partner role.
- Strong working knowledge of multistate employment laws and HR best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work in a PEO, ASO, or managed services environment.

- Base pay range: $80,000 - $119,200/yr.
