About the role
The Client Fund & Trust Accounting Associate is an early-career role responsible for supporting the administration and reconciliation of client trust accounts. This position focuses on learning fiduciary accounting processes, assisting with financial transactions, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping under supervision. This is an excellent opportunity to build foundational experience in insurance accounting, claims financial operations, and regulatory compliance within a TPA environment.
Responsibilities
- Trust Account Support
- Assist with processing deposits, disbursements, and fund transfers within client trust accounts
- Help ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions
- Support monitoring of account balances to ensure adequate funding
- Reconciliations & Data Accuracy
- Assist with daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Research and help resolve discrepancies or unmatched transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Claims Financial Support
- Support claims payment processing and verification
- Assist with tracking payments, recoveries, and refunds
- Collaborate with claims teams to ensure financial data accuracy
- Reporting & Administration
- Help prepare basic client reports (balances, activity summaries)
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding account activity
- Support onboarding tasks for new client accounts
- Compliance & Processes
- Follow established procedures and internal controls
- Maintain organized records for audit readiness
- Participate in training and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or administrative support
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
