About the role
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) at Verizon, you will be responsible for securing contracts within multiple dwelling unit (MDU) and multi-tenant (MTU) communities to expand Verizon Home Internet services. This role involves securing Broadband Access Agreements and Marketing Agreements, giving Verizon access to deploy its networks and market its services.
Responsibilities
- Initiate face-to-face customer contact with high-value owners, builders, and developers of multi-dwelling units to present and secure marketing rights for Verizon's suite of services.
- Develop new business via telephone and mass communication, introducing the value proposition and identifying appropriate buyers within target markets.
- Conduct a needs analysis and determine prospects' pain points to tailor the solution to their needs.
- Identify key buying influencers within these prospects to understand budget and timeline requirements.
- Build and cultivate prospect relationships through communications, site tours, discovery sessions, and follow-up meetings.
- Manage data for new and prospective clients in sales databases, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate, and documents are attached.
- Prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards.
- Establish and leverage effective customer relationships to position Verizon as the provider of choice for voice and broadband services.
- Negotiate contracts and close long-term deals for cooperative marketing of internet and mobility services to renters on a non-exclusive basis.
- Understand the competitive environment and present Verizon's technical advantages in a consultative manner.
- Participate in local/regional industry events and forums, presenting Verizon's programs and capabilities as applicable.
- Interface with local Outside Plant Engineering organizations to identify and pursue new construction engineering opportunities for Verizon and ownership entities alike.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 75% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Even better qualifications: MDU Business Development experience in fiber and/or FWA, knowledge of telecommunications, strong consulting and influencing skills, knowledge of the multi-family environment, ability to manage a funnel in a quota-based environment.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience, preferably in MDU Business Development, telecommunications, or similar roles.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline in a quota-based environment.
- Knowledge of the multi-family environment and telecommunications industry.

The salary varies depending on location and job-related skills and experience. This is a commission-based position with the potential to earn more. Part-time employees may receive adjusted compensation based on their hours worked.
