Client Advisor
About the role
As a Client Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional service experience to both current and prospective business risk clients. This position offers the opportunity to become a trusted advisor, strengthen client partnerships, identify growth opportunities, and make a meaningful impact on client success.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients through the new business and renewal process, coordinating with carriers and customers to ensure a seamless and timely experience.
- Coordinate the issuance of binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related documentation while partnering with internal processing teams to resolve any discrepancies.
- Review renewal policies to identify risk exposures and educate clients on coverage options, exclusions, and potential gaps, helping them make informed insurance decisions.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional lines of business and referral generation.
- Prepare submissions and market accounts with core carrier partners whenever possible.
- Review policy audits for accuracy and collaborate with clients and carriers to resolve issues.
- Support carrier requests, including non-renewals, statements of value, and loss control recommendations.
- Develop and present insurance summaries, schedules, and proposals.
- Assist clients with policy cancellations and accounts receivable concerns.
- Stay current on industry trends, products, legislation, technology, and coverage developments through ongoing professional education and carrier meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues across IMA to support shared business goals and deliver outstanding client service.
- Demonstrate and champion IMA's Core Values in every interaction.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Active North Carolina Insurance Agent License, with the ability to maintain licensing requirements.
- Previous experience as an Account Manager, Client Advisor, or a similar insurance service role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, commercial insurance experience, and/or industry designations preferred.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while delivering a high level of accuracy and responsiveness.
