Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
Promotes Albertson’s philosophy of personalized service.
- Receives all deliveries and logs into the computer.
- Breaks down loads from DSD suppliers.
- Moves products from receiving area to storage, freezer, cooler or sales area.
- Ensures cost, quality and inventory controls through verifying orders against invoices, auditing contents of product and using the electronic receiving system to verify costs.
- Reconciles vendor invoices to costs on the computer system. Inputs differences by item into the system. Balances all receiving and transmits information to the general office for payment.
- Maintains invoices and reports in the established filling system according to the record retention schedule.
- Daily reviews emails to review communication from the DSD Coordinator and retrieves vendor invoices.
- Prevents shrink, damage and spoilage of product.
- Repairs and prices damaged product if saleable. Discards or returns damaged product to appropriate vendor as required.
- Maintains security, sanitation and organization of the receiving, storage and loading dock areas.
- Performs training duties.
- Operates related equipment such as: hand trucks, six-wheel carts, power lifts, pallet jacks, balers, compactors, cutters, pricing guns and computer equipment such as hand held units and stationary CRT units.
- Maintains good working relationship with vendors and delivering personnel.
- Performs other necessary and required duties.

- Frequent reaching, lifting, stacking and maneuvering objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 80 lbs., within the range of floor level to overhead.
- Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to operate related equipment such as: power lifts, balers, compactors, cutters, pricing guns and computer equipment.
- Ability to operate 10-key and type on a keyboard.
- Ability to stand up for long periods of time, walk and move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary.
- Mental alertness is required to ensure safe, accurate completion of work activities and to do repetitious work accuracy.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures regarding receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising, pricing, inventory control and product warehousing/storage.
- Product knowledge including seasonality and perishability.
- Knowledge of product movement and factors impacting gross margins.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends and holidays.
Work Environment
- Some exposure to varying temperatures while working in the loading/receiving area.
- Occasional exposure to 28˚ Fahrenheit while handling products in the cooler and -20˚ Fahrenheit in the freezer.
- Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment, tools and work aids necessary to perform job duties.
- Work environment consists of a backroom receiving area.
- Exposure to varying temperatures while working in the loading and receiving area.
- Occasional exposure to outside temperature of varying temperatures while assisting with unloading.
- Safety – Sensitive Position Job responsibilities include tasks or duties that could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others.
Pay and Benefits
- The pay range is $31.15 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage.
- Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
- Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
