Duties
- Performs data entry.
- Receives and time stamps documents.
- Provides customer services in person and via telephone.
- Retrieves files internally or at an off-site storage facility.
- Answers phones.
- Sorts mail.
- Films pleadings.
- Typing and printing labels.
- Scans and copies documents.
- Packs boxes.
- Moves boxes between pallets and shelves.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of data entry procedures and related office practices.
- Number sequence.
- Computer features and functions.
- Photocopy machine.
- Understanding of documents in case files.
- Basic computer proficiency including Windows-based programs.
- Exercise good judgement and decision-making.
- Enter data accurately and promptly into a computer.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Proofread and verify data.
- Work under general supervision.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Learn to use new computer software as required.
- Communicate and interact effectively, orally and in writing, with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.

Minimum Requirements
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Pass a filing test which tests ability to alphabetize files and place files in numerical order as well as a physical test requiring the lifting and moving of a box weighing approximately, but no more than 40 pounds.
- Pass a typing test for speed and accuracy and score a minimum of 30 words per minute.
- A current, valid driver's license is required for this position.
Residency
Allegheny County within 1 year.
Veterans' Preference
