The Clerk 2 position with the Erie City Housing Authority offers an upbeat and welcoming role that supports both staff and residents. This job gives you the chance to help visitors, organize important information, and assist with daily office tasks. Your efforts will help create a positive experience for the people who rely on the Housing Authority every day. Your work will help strengthen the quality of services offered to tenants and partners.

Description of work

  • Front Desk Support: Greet visitors, direct individuals to the correct office, and manage incoming phone calls
  • Mail Processing: Open, sort, and distribute mail and other incoming materials
  • Document Preparation: Type forms, envelopes, reports, labels, policies, and lease agreements
  • Eligibility Assistance: Calculate income, apply required deductions, and prepare letters for eligibility decisions
  • Public Inquiry Response: Provide information on program guidelines, requirements, and housing availability
  • Data Entry Tasks: Enter information into computer systems and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or Completion of a high school business curriculum; or Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Other Requirements: Must meet the PA residency requirement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: Full-time employment
  • Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
  • Telework: Not available in this position

Pay

In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
