About the role
The Clerical Associate (C.A.) supports the patient care team by performing clerical functions, serving as a role model for customer service, handling various forms of communication, maintaining patient records, managing supplies, and providing assistance to professional staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical functions including data entry and maintaining patient medical records.
- Order and control equipment, supplies, and the physical environment of care.
- Communicate verbally, in writing, by phone, and electronically with patients, families, and staff.
- Provide assistance to professional staff in using the electronic medical record system.
- Interact appropriately with patients and families based on their age and developmental level.
Qualifications
- Necessary Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Necessary Skills: Typing 25 cwpm or 7000 key strokes per hour, data entry skills, ability to write/read in English, basic math skills, confidentiality, and computer proficiency.
- Necessary Licensure/Certifications: Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer, and annually thereafter, for the Psych Unit.
- PREFERRED Licensure/Certifications: CPR training.
- Necessary Experience: 1 - 2 years of general clerical experience in a customer service environment.
- PREFERRED Experience: Customer Service experience in a healthcare environment.
