CLEER Docent (Part-Time)

Position Summary

Gannon University’s Project NePTWNE is seeking to expand its pool of qualified part-time docents/guides to join the Center for Lake Erie Education and Research (CLEER) team. This role is essential for ensuring smooth daily operations including:

• Welcomeing visitors to the open and accessible center space
• Aiding visitors with the proper use of interactive exhibit technology within the center
• Cleaning touch screens and other exhibit items when not otherwise engaged or as appropriate
• Communicating, listening, and sharing thoughts and ideas with visitors based upon interactive exhibits.

Required Qualifications

• Willingness to learn about the exhibits
• Timely and dependable
• Welcoming and inclusive demeanor
• Excellent English written and oral skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-lingual
• BS in environmental science or a related field

Physical Demands

This position requires minimal physical demands, but applicants should be able to safely lift 25 pounds and sit and/or stand for extended periods of time; be able to work in a busy environment.
