Cleared Security Escort - VA

About the role

Cleared Security Escorts are needed to provide escorting services for PGI's customers in the Northern Virginia area. This role involves escorting and monitoring visitors to secure sites, ensuring access control through identification verification, inspection of visitors and carried items, and maintaining continuous surveillance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve knowledge of written post orders, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
• Escort and monitor visitors to and within designated areas, confirming identification, inspecting visitors and carried items
• Maintain visitor access logs according to post orders and company guidelines
• Report and respond to incidents, security, and safety concerns in accordance with established post orders
• Guide, follow, observe, and direct individuals throughout the site
• Prevent the disclosure/loss of sensitive or confidential information
• Auxiliary tasks include controlling physical and electronic locks, unlocking/locking doors and areas, preventing theft of physical or intellectual property, assisting in promoting security policies, and executing and delivering assigned reports
• Participate in ongoing training and team collateral duties

Requirements

• A minimum of one (1) year as a security escort, or one year of local, state, or federal law enforcement experience
• A minimum of 21 years of age
• Ability to complete a security officer training course and conduct regularly scheduled sustainment training
• Operate various security screening related equipment
• Reliable transportation during all seasons
• Firm grasp on the use and implementation of technology, programs, and applications on data bearing devices
• Strong ability to learn new technology systems and programs, troubleshoot, and work through user level issues with technology platforms and applications
• Professional communication via verbal, written, and email correspondence
• A High School diploma or GED
• Ability to complete Security Guard Certification including the application process, fingerprints, and background investigation
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screening

Qualifications

• Current State issued Security Guard Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of honorable military service, active or reserve, in any branch of the US Armed Forces
• Two (2) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Demonstrated history of safe and successful security operations experience in highly secure facilities
• Previous experience operating a Walk-Through Metal Detector, hand-held metal detector and hand-held radio

Pay

The pay rate for this position is $42 - $45/hr.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to bend at the waist, knees
• Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functions
• Must be physically capable of standing an 8-hour post

Schedule

This is a full-time permanent role with a schedule of 8 hours a day, Monday - Friday.
