About the role

Carlson is one of the largest retail cleaning companies in the Upper Midwest, maintaining over 240 properties in 8 states. Our headquarters is in White Bear Lake, MN, a northeast suburb of Saint Paul. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and promotion from within.

The Floor Care Technician is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet (including scrubbing, buffing, carpet extraction, vacuuming, etc.) at client locations. You will work under limited supervision in collaboration with other team members, representing Carlson in a respectful and friendly manner while interacting with customers, store personnel, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operating floor machines
• Sweeping debris and cleanup
• Vacuuming hard surfaces and carpets
• Restroom cleaning
• Performing quality control checks
• Participating in new hire training

Requirements

• Availability to work on weekends
• Reliable transportation or access to public transportation

Physical Demands

• Ability to regularly lift 45 pounds
• Ability to push and pull floor cleaning equipment over concrete, tile, and carpeted floors
• Sufficient physical strength, ability, and stamina to perform a variety of janitorial tasks related to floor care
• Ability to work with a variety of cleaning products
• Ability to work night shifts and/or very early morning hours as required
• Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
