About the Role
The Industrial Paint Cleaner / Prepper prepares surfaces for painting in a full-time, day-shift position based in Dixon, IL.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sand, and power wash metal surfaces, fabricated parts, and structures prior to painting per process instructions.
- Mask and unmask using paper, foil, tape, or other materials.
- Transport, move, or guide parts, sub-assemblies, or assemblies before, during, or after the paint process and to the next operation, including loading/unloading and moving racks or carts by hand or using material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, overhead crane).
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of paint shop equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Hang parts to prepare for power washing.
- Conduct daily tests of solvents used to clean parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Ability to push a rolling load of parts.
- Adequate balance and ability to climb a ladder.
Schedule
Day Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
