Cleaner
About the role
SUNY Brockport is seeking a Cleaner to join our team. This position requires medium to heavy physical effort, basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to climb scaffolding.
Responsibilities
- Cleans, stocks, and supplies designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, using auto scrubbers, shampooers and burnishers)
- Shovels snow around sidewalks and stairs surrounding campus buildings
- Performs medium to heavy physical labor, lifting up to 30 lbs
- Works independently as well as in a group setting
- Carries out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
- Notifies management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
- Safely uses and applies cleaning chemicals
- Follows all health and safety regulations
- Performs and documents routine inspection and maintenance activities
- Overtime may be required as needed
Requirements
- Labor Class: No education or experience requirements
- Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
