Clean Tech Pre-Apprentice - Temp

Summary The Clean Tech Pre-Apprentice (Part-Time) role is part of Goodwill South Florida’s innovative workforce training model, designed to prepare participants for careers in clean energy and skilled trades. This position serves as a companion to Goodwill’s blended training approach, combining classroom instruction with hands-on, real-world application through an integrated workforce training lab. Will build technical competencies while gaining structured, work-based learning experience across Goodwill facilities and/or partner organizations. This “practice-before-placement” model is designed to increase job readiness, competency, and successful transition into employment or Registered Apprenticeship programs. Will provide on-the-job training at work locations where they will practice the Technical Training and use their Industry-Recognized Credentials to perform work assignments. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance.Assist with installations.Support energy efficiency and building system upgrades across facilities.Participate in structured work-based learning (up to 30 hours per week) during the specified time. Complete 40 hours of additional nonpaid VR-based lab training.Adhere to safety standards learned in the OSHA training.Demonstrate proper use of tools, materials, and PPE. Practice the career readiness and employability skills learned in prior training.Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.Ensure timely, accurate, and confidential documentation of participant information in required databases, forms, and reports.Comply with agency policies, procedures, and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards.Perform other duties as assigned.
