About the role
Operate and control process equipment and systems in the production of pharmaceutical-grade amino acids. This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be strictly followed and enforced.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain an understanding of each part of the clean process and its function while learning the flow of the clean process.
- Learn and apply the theory behind the clean process.
- Efficiently and timely carry out assigned tasks in support of productivity for the team, department, and process.
- Assist team members when workload permits or when all assignments have been completed.
- Actively participate in daily housekeeping tasks by keeping work areas clean and organized, and complete assigned monthly housekeeping tasks.
- Retain information provided by trainer and apply learned knowledge to assigned tasks.
- Read, understand, and follow SOPs and direct instruction from trainer, foreman, and associate manager.
- Practice open communication with the team regarding any production issues or challenges beyond your trained skill level.
- Learn and execute required documentation according to cGMP and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Technical School training or additional Bioworks is preferred.
- Chemical processing experience is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret instructions from operational manuals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to drive results.
- Ability to work with a team and individually.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate and effectively use equipment such as a forklift.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 3 hours per day.
- Sit, walk, bend over, and reach above head for a minimum of an hour a day.
- Lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Repetitive use of hands/arms for writing and computer work.

Pay
$22.00 per hour.
Schedule
12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
