About the role

As a Retail Home Consultant with Clayton, you will create a world‑class home‑buying experience by assisting customers in identifying a floor plan, selecting options, and coordinating the construction process.

Responsibilities

• Protect the Clayton branding and assets by maintaining a high level of integrity throughout the sales process (Clayton Ambassador).
• Develop expertise in finance, mortgage concepts, product knowledge, sales acumen, presentation skills, and the local market (Constant Learner).
• Maintain customer files and provide timely follow‑up with prospective buyers via the company’s CRM system (Customer Follow‑up).
• Assist the manager by selecting inventory, decorating model homes, and maintaining the appearance of the homes (Merchandising).
• Develop, refine, and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to increase home‑center traffic (Personal Prospecting).
• Present potential buyers with display homes, demonstrate features and benefits to create added value (Product Demonstration).
• Set home‑center visits by utilizing the prospect database and converting ad calls and web leads into appointments (Set Appointments).
• Participate in all sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company‑sponsored functions (Training).
• Collaborate cooperatively in a team environment and assist with miscellaneous duties as required (Team Oriented).

Requirements

• At least 6 months of relationship‑driven business‑to‑consumer sales (preferred).
• General understanding of the retail environment.
• Ability to obtain appropriate manufactured‑home sales licensing.
• Willingness to learn and comply with legal requirements applicable to the sale of manufactured homes.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel and contribute to a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Availability to work the required schedule, including Saturdays.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
• Ability to move and lift furniture, promotional items, etc., up to 75 lb.
• Subject to criminal background check and drug screening.

Compensation

Base salary of $50,000 plus a lucrative commission plan, offering unlimited career and earning potential.
