About the role
Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We believe in fostering an environment that is supportive, developmentally appropriate, and tailored to specific individual needs. Our dedication lies in the cooperative, self-motivated, adjusted, and academically accomplished development of each child.
Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision and assist students ages 18 through 22 who are placed at a community work sites.
- Aid students with academic tasks.
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with assigned students.
- Offer therapeutic feedback to students in a constructive manner.
- Collect data on student behaviors.
- Rotate among various classrooms under teacher and administration supervision.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with children with severe behaviors is a plus.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided by Solterra Academy).
- Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required with the first training course provided after hire date (training provided by Solterra Academy).
- All candidates for employment will undergo a background check.
