About This Role

The Classroom Support role is an inspiring and engaging presence for the children they serve. In this position, you will be responsible for helping to plan and lead activities, as well as ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of every child. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young children and their families.

What You'll Do

  • Create a safe and engaging environment for children, while also promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Closely monitor children's activities to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Follow established emergency protocols and respond promptly and appropriately to any incidents that may occur.
  • Ensure that toys, play areas, and equipment are regularly cleaned and maintained to prevent accidents.
  • Aid children with their daily routines, including meals, naps, and personal hygiene.
  • Support children with their personal care, such as changing diapers and assisting with toilet training, as needed.
  • Promote healthy eating habits and ensure children are properly hydrated at all times.
  • Develop and implement activities that promote learning and social development, tailored to the needs and abilities of each child.
  • Engage children in a variety of activities, including reading stories, arts and crafts, and sensory play.
  • Create a warm, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere that encourages social and emotional growth.
  • Guide children in developing age-appropriate social behaviors and skills.
  • Provide comfort and reassurance to children who may be experiencing distress or difficulty.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians, and other childcare staff to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive and supportive environment for all children.
  • Keep accurate records of incidents, concerns, and developmental milestones.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate and engage with children of all abilities.
  • Ability to be team-oriented.
  • Willingness to complete required childcare training and/or certifications as in CPR/First Aid, etc.
  • Previous experience, formal and/or informal, in a childcare setting preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
