About the role
Supports a warm, safe, constructive, and non-threatening environment with age-appropriate activities for Head Start 0-5 children. Assists the teacher with classroom record-keeping tasks, food service, and staff breaks. Observes children, documents unusual circumstances, and supports infants' feeding.
Responsibilities
- Aid in classroom setup and clean-up for meals, snacks, and breakfasts.
- Prepare classroom materials for scheduled activities.
- Support screenings, including infant feeding on demand.
- Inventory food supplies and request additional items as needed.
- Assist with summer food services and fluoride administration.
- Encourage family involvement and assist in developing individual plans.
- Participate in home visits and school conferences.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, planning to obtain a CDA credential or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- A love for teaching and building trust with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds for various classroom and event needs.
