CLASSIFIED_4-day, 6.5-hour Shared Preschool Attendant, Chieftain Elementary (Placement with 2 students)

Shared Preschool Attendant position at Chieftain Elementary, working with 2 students on a 4-day schedule (Tuesday–Friday).

Schedule

• 9:10 AM to 4:10 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
• 6.5-hour work day, 9-month contract

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred)
• Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit (O.R.C. 3319.088)
• Before first day of employment:
  • Non-guilty/non-conviction statement
  • Ohio Department of Education BCI & FBI background checks
  • Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Associates (OCCRRA) account
  • Department of Job and Family Services BCI & FBI background checks
  • Medical statement
• Within first 30 days of employment:
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
  • OCCRRA Orientation for new staff (3 hours)
• Ongoing requirements:
  • Communicable Disease training (OCCRRA)
  • Child Abuse training (OCCRRA)
  • 10 hours of OCCRRA training yearly
  • Ohio Professional Registry on The Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association
  • Compliance with all Step Up To Quality mandates
  • Completion of any new standards/rules in O.R.C. 3301-37-04
  • CPI Restraint Training upon request

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction of classroom teachers
• Implement Individual Education Plans and monitor student progress
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable full participation in activities
• Collaborate with professionals such as speech therapists, counselors, occupational and physical therapists
• Maintain student records with classroom teachers
• Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist in developing appropriate social skills
• Assist with toileting, feeding, and hygiene needs of students if necessary
• Perform general aide duties when the assigned student is absent
• Other duties as assigned
