About the role

We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team in a K-12 alternative certification program. This role supports non-traditional certification pathways for aspiring teachers, helping them meet Michigan's certification requirements while gaining hands-on classroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement alternative certification curriculum aligned with state standards.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to teacher candidates throughout their certification process.
• Collaborate with school districts to place candidates in appropriate classroom settings.
• Monitor candidate progress and ensure compliance with Michigan Department of Education requirements.
• Facilitate professional development workshops and seminars for candidates.
• Evaluate candidate performance through observations, assessments, and portfolio reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of candidate progress and program outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful K-12 teaching experience.
• Experience with alternative certification programs or teacher mentorship preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan teacher certification standards and processes.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including school districts, universities, and state agencies.
