Job Summary

About the role

The candidate must operate heavy mobile equipment on highway construction job sites, including Asphalt Roller, Backhoe, Bobcat, Dozer, Loader, Track Drill, Compaction Roller, and Off Road Dump Broom.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties safely, observing all safety and health rules.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of competence, skill, and proficiency.
• Complete pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and daily equipment reports.
• Report unsafe mechanical conditions to supervisor.
• Back up safely and efficiently, accurately locating and positioning the equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating heavy off-road mobile equipment on road construction jobs.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions and safety manuals.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification.
• Able to work required overtime and flexible work schedule.
• Able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.
• Able to work outdoors and exposed to varying and/or extreme weather conditions.
• Able to work in high and/or precarious places or cramped work spaces.
• Able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, lift 25 pounds, and wear safety toe, lace-up boots.
