Class C Driver

About the role

PACE Supply is opening a new branch in Van Nuys, CA, and is seeking a Class C Driver to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers, including assisting with loading and unloading materials and maintaining thorough documentation for all deliveries.
• Process customer returns with precision, verifying product details to facilitate accurate credit requests.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the vehicle as needed, and report any mechanical issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all DOT standards and regulations to maintain safety and compliance.
• Adhere to and promote all company safety policies and procedures to protect yourself and others.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to pick, prepare, receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming materials as needed.
• Be prepared to work overtime as required to meet business demands.

Requirements

• A high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Previous warehouse experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
• Two years of professional driving related experience and/or training.
• Five-day work week.
• Long hours of moving and heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
• Basic knowledge and proper use of the English language, including reading, writing, and oral communications.
• Knowledge of driving laws and adherence to speed limits while driving a company vehicle.
• Knowledge of the procedure in the event of an accident in the warehouse or in company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing, carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Skills

• Ability to put things in a proper sequence (e.g., by size, alphabetically, numerically).
• Knowledge of the procedure in the event of an accident in the warehouse or in company vehicle.
