Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while serving as the face of our company and building lasting customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect equipment to ensure compliance with company safety standards and take corrective action as needed.
• Report all safety issues and/or required repairs.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies; immediately report all safety hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Move tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule.
• Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
• Perform damage control checks on items, scan products, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy.
• Verify delivery of items with the customer, obtain proper signatures, and collect payment (cash or checks) where required.
• Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
• Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring them to driver check-in, and complete necessary paperwork.
• Unload all equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
• Complete daily records of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 6+ months of commercial/box truck driving experience.
• Valid CDL-B license.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Attain or possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new one.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize a two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift; product generally ranges from 10–35 pounds and up to 60–90 pounds, depending on location.

Pay

$76,000–$92,000 per year.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, dispatch between 3:00 AM–6:00 AM.
