Class B CDL Driver - Building Materials / Lumberyard

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class B CDL Driver for building materials and lumberyard deliveries. Local routes with home daily.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection of truck and routine maintenance; inform manager of needed repairs.
• Check delivery product for accuracy and secure loads properly.
• Communicate with customers about deliveries and obtain signatures on paperwork.
• Unload material by hand or operate a Boom Truck or Moffett Forklift.
• Assist customers who require material from the yard professionally.
• Maintain and adhere to all OSHA and company safety and health standards.
• Responsibly operate a yard forklift and abide by traffic laws.
• Keep trucks and forklift clean and in working condition.
• Handle delivery paperwork, incoming inventory, and inner-yard documentation.
• Unload product from vendors and delivery trucks; put material away.
• Maintain good communication with co-workers.
• Perform other duties assigned by store manager or ownership.

Requirements

• Must have CDL endorsement (Class B required).
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire (training/testing provided).
• Able to travel to and from work in Aviston, IL daily.
• Knowledge of load capacity, safety guidelines, and general CDL truck maintenance.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment screenings.
• May need to lift, push, or move products weighing an average of 100 pounds.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Pay

$25 - $30 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

• Working hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm (hours may vary by location/season; Saturday hours differ; closed Sunday).
• Some Saturday mornings may be required, based on business needs.
• Limited overtime available.
• Home daily (routes are within 100 miles of Aviston, IL).
