JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will operate USALCO tractor-tankers safely over all types of roadways to deliver chemical products to customer sites. This role requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual who:

  • Incorporates safety and quality into every decision while performing day-to-day activities
  • Maintains effective communications with Transportation, Manufacturing, Safety, and customers

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet all safety requirements of job functions being performed, including wearing and utilizing PPE
  • Work in accordance with DOT and USALCO standards and policies, including hours of service, pre-/post trips, etc.
  • Perform loading and unloading of chemical products, including product transfer, quality analysis, documentation, and customer-required certificates of analysis
  • Attend monthly safety meetings
  • Communicate professionally with USALCO employees, contractors, vendors, and customers
  • Maintain a professional appearance while wearing a company uniform
  • Collaborate with site management and employees to address needs and priorities
  • Be available to work overtime, perform physical labor, and work changing shifts as needed
  • Transport USALCO branded products safely across state lines as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires organizational and planning skills
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and able to respond quickly to customer needs
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential
  • Must pass a road test administered by USALCO
  • Must be able to maintain a drivers log book / on-board computer with an electronic logging system
  • Must have a TWIC card or obtain one within 90 days of hire (company will pay for the TWIC card)

EDUCATION

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Hold a current Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazardous Materials endorsements and 3 years of Cargo Tank experience
  • Driving record of 3+ years with no accidents or moving violations
  • No DUI or DWI

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • The ability to:
  • Routinely lift 80 to 100 pounds and handle 2 to 3 diameter by 22 lengths of product delivery hoses
  • Routinely climb up and down to load racks and tankers for loading and venting/unloading purposes
  • Routinely traverse ship ladders, catwalks, and close quarters
  • Work inside confined spaces, as needed
  • Pass and maintain a current Interstate DOT Class A driver medical card
  • Pass and maintain a DOT Drug and Alcohol pre-employment test and any random required DOT drug tests after employment
  • Be able to sit and drive a standard or automatic transmission for the duration of their assigned shift and comply with DOT driving guidelines
