Class A Truck Driver
About the role
The Class-A Truck Driver will serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. They will transport finished goods and raw materials over land, inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance. This position requires adherence to truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land, to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Work with management to plan and meet delivery schedules.
- Document time spent driving and retain fuel receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Handle packages from small envelopes to boxes ranging up to 80 pounds.
- Operate carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to move large quantities of merchandise.
- Ensure equipment is clean such as trailers, tractors, and bobtail truck.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- A valid Class-A California driver license.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
- Experience within the food and beverage transportation industry preferred.
- Experience driving Class-A vehicles.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- You must have good hearing, at least 20/40 vision with glasses or corrective lenses, and a 70-degree field of vision in each eye.
- Drivers cannot be colorblind.
- Truck drivers must have a strong sense of spatial relations to park their vehicles and negotiate tight spaces.
Communications Skills
- All drivers must be able to read and speak English well enough to understand road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with law enforcement officers and the public.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $30.00- $33.00/hour + benefits
