About the Role
As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will drive a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The role involves professional communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers, functioning as a team member, and performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Report all safety issues and/or required repairs.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
- Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Ensure all required route paperwork is with the tractor trailer load and available upon dispatch.
- Drive and deliver trailers according to a predetermined route schedule.
- Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
- Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas; ensure equipment and freight are appropriately locked/secured.
- Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers; complete necessary paperwork.
- Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
- Complete daily records of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 6+ or 12 months of commercial driving experience.
- Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Ability to work a 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and road test.
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (60–90 pounds) throughout the shift.

Pay
Average pay: $65,000 per year.
