Responsibilities
- Act as a safety representative, ensuring adherence to company and customer safety policies and procedures, including operational, emergency response, and administrative functions.
- Operate manual and automated hydro blasting equipment, Ultra High-Pressure pumps, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
- Examine cleaned surfaces to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on company equipment.
- Handle duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders.
- Direct a crew of vacuum technicians.
- Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with all vehicle policy and DOT requirements.
- Load and unload hoses, and unload vacuum trucks at dump sites.
- Provide general field maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Class A or B commercial driver’s license with no restrictions; must be licensed to drive manual transmission trucks.
- Tanker Endorsement required.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks and vacuum trucks.
- Execute a 180-degree rotary motion of the cervical spine for complete head and neck movement.
- Ability to hold and operate a double-trigger hydroblast shotgun and other hydroblast equipment with both hands.
- Climb ladders and work from scaffolding or stationary platforms up to 200 feet.
- Tolerate and function in confined spaces with a minimum 5-foot inside diameter.
- Hold the back thrust of 50 lbs. on a straight 66” pipe for a minimum of one hour.
- Physically capable of using both negative pressure and air-supplied respirators.
- Drive heavy equipment for long periods.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment, including nomex coveralls, back belt, slickers, rubber boots, fresh air breathing mask, escape pack, and hard hat.
- Work under extreme climate conditions (e.g., high heat index of 95°F+ with 98% humidity, sub-zero temperatures).
- Tolerate exposure to dust (chemical and environmental), fumes (chemical and fluids), exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids (respirator provided when required).
- Work in noise levels exceeding 85 dBA (hearing protection provided and required).
- Specific vocational preparation, including classroom safety training and on-the-job experience.
- English language proficiency to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
- Knowledgeable in operating emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
- Working knowledge of wet and dry vacuum equipment.
