Class A or B CDL Driver TWIC Tanker Hazmat Manual Transmission Experience

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in East Chicago, IN is seeking a safety-conscious Class A or B CDL Driver / Equipment Operator with manual transmission experience.

About the role

The CDL Operator ensures the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all service lines. Supervises and completes single-task jobs requiring one crew and manages turnarounds with oversight at client sites, adhering to client, business, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Act as safety representative, implementing company and customer safety policies and procedures, including emergency response and administrative functions.
• Operate vacuum equipment, hydroblasting equipment, Ultra High-Pressure pumps, and specialized cleaning equipment.
• Examine cleaned surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on company equipment.
• Handle duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders.
• Direct a crew of vacuum technicians as needed.
• Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with vehicle policy and DOT requirements.
• Load and unload hoses; unload vacuum trucks at dump sites.
• Provide general field maintenance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class A or B CDL License with no restrictions; must be licensed to drive manual transmission trucks.
• HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements required.
• TWIC required or must be able to obtain.
• Availability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Language proficiency in English to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
• Experience operating vacuum trucks and emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers).
• Working knowledge of wet and dry vacuum equipment.
