Class A or B CDL Driver
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking a Class A or B CDL Operator to join their safety-conscious team in Superior, WI. This role is ideal for transitioning military personnel looking to leverage their skills in a civilian career.
About the role
The CDL Operator is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC Industrial jobs across all service lines. You will supervise and complete single-task jobs requiring one crew and assist with turnarounds under management oversight at client sites, adhering to client and company requirements, policies, and procedures.
Note: You must be able to operate a manual transmission; those with manual restrictions will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Act as safety representative, ensuring compliance with company and customer safety policies and procedures, including hands-on operations, emergency response, and administrative functions.
- Operate vacuum equipment, hydroblasting equipment, and specialized tools such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps.
- Energize pumping equipment, hydroblasting/chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment.
- Inspect cleaned surfaces to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on company equipment used on the job.
- Handle duties associated with liquid vacs, air machines, and jet rodders.
- Direct a crew of vacuum technicians when required.
- Transport equipment and personnel to and from customer locations.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver’s logs, and comply with all vehicle policy and DOT requirements.
- Load and unload hoses, and unload vacuum trucks at dump sites.
- Provide general field maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Class A or B CDL License required; HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements preferred but required within 60 days of hire.
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission.
- Vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training, and relevant experience.
- Proficiency in English to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with company driving policy.
- Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
- Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required.
- Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
- Experience operating a vacuum truck and equipment used in wet and dry vacuums.
