Class A, Onsite Driver

About the role

Day & Zimmermann Munitions Plants is a trusted premier manufacturer of ammunition to the U.S. Military, with over 120 years of experience. We are seeking a full-time, Heavy Driver to join our team in Parsons, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Checks truck for proper operating condition, recommends necessary repairs, and may make minor adjustments.
• May supervise a small crew of laborers.
• Performs necessary functions to receive, move, store and outship material in an efficient and safe manner.
• Responsible for onsite transportation of hazardous waste.
• Picks orders for line support and shipments.
• Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage.
• Assembles various types of merchandise to be shipped.
• Performs necessary inventory functions as required and responsible to insure accurate counts on storage items.

Requirements

• Experience operating a semi with trailer and forklift safely.
• Knowledge of Security regulations (ATF, DSS, Homeland Security).
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong math skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School and/or equivalent.
• 3 years minimum experience.
• Forklift Hazardous Materials Endorsement, Class A-CDL.
• Minimal reading comprehension at 6th grade level required.
