Class A Hazmat Driver

About the role

We are seeking Class A Hazmat Drivers for a 2-week project during the summer months through VSS International, Inc. in South Lake Tahoe. This opportunity is contingent upon project awarding.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hand tools are loaded and tar paper is placed.
• Perform pre-trip inspections, ensuring the truck is clean, lubricated, free of oil leaks, and brakes are adjusted.
• Maintain equipment in good condition for operation.
• Fill fuel tanks before departure.
• Operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) as required by law.
• Monitor and maintain proper fuel levels and tire pressure.
• Timely collection and submission of time records.
• Comply with all paperwork requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external drivers and customers.
• CDL license with Tanker & HazMat endorsement.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects using organizational and communication skills.
• Show responsibility for timely and accurate work completion and commitment to company goals.
• Capable of handling fast-paced, stressful working conditions.
• Experience in pavement preservation is beneficial.
• Aged 21 or older.
• At least 2 years of CDL experience.
