About the role

We are hiring a Local CDL Driver in Hutchinson, KS. The position starts at $31/hour with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and a referral bonus. Full-time consistent scheduling is provided along with comprehensive family benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A vehicle to load and deliver pressurized gases.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, and kneeling while handling high-pressure hoses and equipment in all weather conditions.
  • Execute all deliveries in strict accordance with DOT, OSHA, and Airgas SAFECOR policies, consistently utilizing specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for handling cryogenic liquids.
  • Maintain customer gas levels and resolve service inquiries by walking and standing for extended periods to monitor equipment performance and site safety.
  • Perform rigorous pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and customer tank audits to ensure all hardware is operating safely.
  • Accurately utilize On-Board Computers to manage manifests and shipping documents, providing data-driven feedback to management to improve route timing and delivery sequences.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and professional appearance while supporting warehouse and dock operations, including the proficient use of forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Hazmat, and Airbrake endorsements.
  • A current Medical Examiner’s Card.
  • A minimum of two years verifiable Class A driving experience within the past 5 years with a clean MVR.
  • The ability to safely handle and deliver our products with routinely lifting 25-75 lbs and up to 125+ lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • A high degree of physical capability and stamina to safely handle and deliver our products with routinely bending, walking, standing, and driving for up to 8 hours a day of hazardous cargo.
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 12 hours and work outdoors in extreme temperatures ranging from -10°F to 110°F.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and utilize digital logging systems to maintain accurate safety documentation.

Qualifications

  • Licensing and experience: Valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Hazmat, and Airbrake endorsements, a current Medical Examiner’s Card, and a minimum of two years verifiable Class A driving experience within the past 5 years with a clean MVR.
  • Technical proficiency: Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and utilize digital logging systems to maintain accurate safety documentation.
  • Prior experience with tractor-tanker combinations, handling compressed gases or cryogenic liquids, and a background in customer service or sales is highly valued.
