Class A Driver - Bonuses Available

About the role

Mammoth Disposal, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a Class A Driver to support local routes in Mammoth Lakes, CA and Bishop, CA. The job is based out of Mammoth, but this person may be asked to work out of our Bishop location occasionally. Employees are compensated for travel in those situations. Drivers interested in stable, year-round employment encouraged to apply.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed
• Start time: 5:30 AM
• Shift runs until route is complete, typically 8–10 hours per day

Pay

Starting wage range: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a truck and flatbed trailer, or garbage truck on specified routes to deliver toilets or collect solid waste
• Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles (checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires)
• Perform physically demanding work, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers
• Courteous interaction with customers
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Extensive physical activity; strenuous physical work with heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 75 pounds
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts — basic safety precautions required
• Outside weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions
• Exposure to fumes and vibration
• Moderate noise level

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Clean driving record
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
