Class A Driver
About the role
PACE Supply in Bakersfield, CA is seeking skilled and reliable Class A Drivers to join our SoCal team and help deliver exceptional service to our valued customers. We are a leading, industry-recognized wholesale distributor specializing in high-quality products including plumbing, hydronics, fire protection, water treatment, pumps, water well, septic, sewer, and water works.
Responsibilities
- Operate large commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers and flatbeds to transport goods safely and efficiently.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Adhere to DOT regulations and maintain accurate driving logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries by coordinating with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules and adjust as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation, ensuring all records are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Document and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal operating condition.
- Ensure the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.
Requirements
- Valid California Class A Driver’s license with a "T" endorsement (doubles, triples, tankers), Manual Transmission.
- At least 21 years of age.
- A clean driving record, along with the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Medical certification clearance card, FMSC Clearinghouse registration, and clean driving record required.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class A vehicles and/or relevant training, with previous delivery experience in wholesale products and warehouse environments strongly preferred.
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of driving laws, regulations, adherence to speed limits, and familiarity with procedures in the event of an accident.
- Able to work a five-day work week with flexibility for overtime, as needed.

- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to sequence tasks effectively and group similar items together.

Pay
Details on pay will be provided at the time of hire.
Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, starting at 1200AM (midnight), with potential for daily overtime.
