About the role
As a Class A Driver, you will operate large commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers and flatbeds, ensuring the safe and timely transport of goods. You will collaborate with warehouse teams to prepare and securely load orders while maintaining a positive and safety-conscious work environment.
Responsibilities
- Strategically plan delivery routes, considering traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify mechanical or safety issues.
- Coordinate with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules and provide updates as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Adhere to hours-of-service regulations and take required breaks to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.
Requirements
- Valid California Class A Driver’s license with a "T" endorsement (doubles, triples, tankers).
- Manual transmission experience.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Medical Certification Clearance Card and FMSC Clearinghouse registration.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class A vehicles; previous delivery experience in wholesale products and warehouse environments strongly preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of driving laws, regulations, and accident procedures.
- Ability to perform long hours of driving and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic English proficiency for reading, writing, and oral communication.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to sequence tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; a combination of education and experience may qualify.
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM start time.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
