About the Role
This is an entry-level driver training role based out of Rice, MN, with early morning dispatch four to five days per week (Monday–Saturday). The position may include multiple night layovers, with company-paid hotel accommodations and a food stipend. No Sunday work is required.
Responsibilities
- Attend and successfully complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
- Ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries.
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip inspections) according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules; unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
- Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders as needed.
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures; collect payments where required.
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors.
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork.
- Complete daily record of hours of service and log entries in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.
- Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
- High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
- Valid CDL A license.
- Must meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
- Pass road test.
- Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight weighing between 10-90 pounds throughout the shift.

Pay
Minimum $320/day plus component pay (cases, miles, stops). Average annual earnings: $90,000/year.
Schedule
Early morning dispatch, four to five days per week (Monday–Saturday). No Sunday work required.
