Position Summary
Livestock Nutrition Center, a leading regional feed manufacturer, is seeking a qualified candidate with a Class A CDL to join our team. This position involves operating heavy trucks and trailers to deliver bulk feed, bagged feed, and feed supplements to customers within a 200-mile radius.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Safely deliver LNC livestock feed products to customers as directed and collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges as needed.
- Maintain relationships with customers by displaying a professional and courteous attitude.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, and ensure proper maintenance.
- Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Communicate with supervisor to receive delivery instructions and update on progress.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Operate hydraulic systems on trailers, set up trucks for appropriate delivery, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations to management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver with a minimum of 2 years.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Ability to work weekends and on a rotating and seasonal basis.
- Physically capable of operating the type of CMV intended to drive.
- Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (Electronic logs, GPS).
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- No criminal offenses involving a commercial vehicle.
