Schedule

Scheduled work is 4/10s (four 10-hour days), Monday - Saturday. Work days may not be consecutive. Additional work required as needed.

Pay

Starting pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Role

As a Class A CDL tractor trailer driver, you will complete routine trips between the transfer station and tipper platform area at Dry Creek Landfill with a 53ft trailer. This position requires adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures at multiple safety-sensitive sites, as well as performing routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random selection drug and alcohol testing per DOT requirements and Company policy.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with Air Brakes Endorsement (Required)
  • Ability to operate both Manual & Automatic transmission vehicles
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
  • Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre- and post-trip inspections

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A Tractor Trailer Truck (waste experience preferred, but not required)
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, at times with no helpers
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to unload refuse and dispose of trash at Dry Creek Landfill

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Requires physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds
  • Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions
  • Exposure to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration
  • Noise level is usually moderate
