Schedule
- Tuesday - Saturday, 4pm to 4am
- Tuesday - Saturday, 5pm to 5am
Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A tractor trailer on commercial routes while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a solid knowledge of DOT regulations and Allen Distribution policies, following them 100% of the time
- Report any unsafe acts or equipment to dispatch immediately
- Communicate effectively with shippers, consignees, and customers to resolve issues promptly
- Read and understand work instructions from dispatch, including electronic communication and e-logs
- Understand regional geography, read maps, and make efficient travel route decisions
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, communicating findings to dispatch or maintenance teams
- Ensure loads are picked up and delivered as scheduled; communicate any delays or service non-conformance to dispatch
- Communicate with dispatch regarding load completion, end-of-day requirements, and recommendations for improvements
- Stay on schedule throughout the day, taking required breaks without excessive downtime
Requirements
- Ability to maintain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Willingness to drive a Class A tractor trailer on commercial routes
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers, and sit or stand for long periods
