About the role
A Route Driver is responsible for operation of a truck to collect fabrication material from meat processors, slaughter facilities and grocery stores, and used cooking oil from restaurants to our location in Kansas City, KS.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Must be able to handle outside elements year round
- Collects and inspects products at time of pick up for any foreign material at customer location
- Maintains an Electronic DOT log
- Operates vehicle in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations
- Conducts pre and post trip vehicle inspections; observes company policy, procedures and safety rules
- Provides quality, professional service at all times
- Completes all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies on a daily basis
- Serves on Safety Committee as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid Class A driver's license with tanker endorsement
- Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Ability to stay focused and concentrate on one thing for long periods of time
- Occasionally lifts up to 75 lbs
- Occasionally pushes, pulls or moves up to 250 lbs
- Occasionally required to maneuver a fully loaded dolly
- Occasionally required to load deadstock and/or bins with assistance from a wench on their vehicle
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a commercial motor vehicle, customer locations, and plant environment.
