About the role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Appleton, WI (54914) with additional work locations across IL, WI, IN, MN. This is a regular full-time regional solo driver position operating sleeper tractors pulling dry van and Conestoga trailers. Drivers deliver solo to WI, MN, North & South Dakota, KS, IA, MO, MI, OH, KY, NE, IL, and IN. The role involves touch freight — pallet and piece unloading — and requires use of a pallet jack (training provided). Equipment consists of well-maintained trucks 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations. Auto-only CDL restrictions are not accepted.

Pay

  • Solo miles pay: $0.60 per mile with 1,800+ miles per week
  • Solo stops pay: $24.00 per stop with 20+ stops per week
  • Per diem pay: $51.50 per night with 4 nights per week
  • Sign-on bonus: $3,000 ($1,500 at 30 days, $1,500 at 90 days)
  • Paid training provided
  • Weekly pay
  • Drivers on this account earn $2,020 or more weekly

  • Home every weekend
  • Daytime start

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the assigned customer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
