You will support industrial, petrochemical, crane, construction, and heavy transport projects throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South while gaining hands-on experience with specialized transportation, multi-axle trailer operations, oversized load requirements, customer site procedures, and industry-leading safety practices. What You'll Be Doing Safely operate heavy-spec trucks and specialized trailer combinationsTransport equipment, materials, crane components, and oversized loads safely and legallyOperate flatbeds, step decks, lowboys, RGNs, multi-axle trailers, and other specialized transport equipment as assignedRead and follow permits, approved routes, escort requirements, and customer delivery instructionsProperly load, inspect, and secure freight before transportReconcile bills of lading, delivery paperwork, load details, and required documentationUnderstand axle weight distribution and work with dispatch, supervision, and operations to adjust loads as neededDeliver equipment and materials to industrial, petrochemical, construction, crane, and customer job sitesAssist with loading and unloading cranes, components, equipment, and materials as neededPerform required pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsMaintain logs, inspection records, fuel receipts, delivery paperwork, and other required documentationCheck truck and trailer equipment to ensure roadworthiness, including tires, lights, brakes, fluids, securement devices, and safety equipmentReport needed repairs, maintenance concerns, defects, or safety issues promptlyWork closely with dispatch, operations, supervision, and customer site contactsMaintain DOT, FMCSA, company, and customer safety complianceParticipate in company safety procedures, programs, meetings, and job-site orientationsRepresent Bengal professionally on customer job sitesPerform other duties as assigned What We Offer Weekly pay via direct deposit$27 - $32/HR depending on experiencePer diem opportunitiesPaid vacation & holidaysMedical, dental & vision insurancePaid life insurance401(k) retirement planDisability & supplemental insurance optionsCompany uniform programConsistent year-round workModern specialized fleetStable team environmentLong-term career stabilitySafety-focused operationsProfessional dispatch and operations teamOpportunities to learn multi-axle trailer operations and specialized transport equipmentCareer growth with one of the Gulf South's leading specialized transportation and crane support fleets What We Need Valid Class A CDLCurrent DOT Medical CardAcceptable MVR and company-approved driving recordTWIC CardAbility to pass a road testAbility to pass DOT drug screen, background check, and fit-for-duty requirementsSafe driving historyStrong commitment to safety, professionalism, and complianceAbility to read and follow permits, route instructions, bills of lading, delivery tickets, and customer site requirementsAbility to complete logs, inspection reports, receipts, and basic written documentation accuratelyAbility to work safely around heavy equipment, cranes, trailers, and active job-site environmentsAbility to work as part of a professional, safety-focused team Preferred Qualifications Heavy haul or multi-axle experienceIndustrial or petrochemical job-site experienceFlatbed, step deck, lowboy, RGN, steerable trailer, or specialized trailer experienceOversized or permitted load experienceCrane component or equipment hauling experienceDoubles/Triples endorsement preferredOSHA training preferredSecurity Passport or safety council training preferredExperience operating in high-traffic areas, tight yards, congested customer sites, or active industrial facilitiesBasic computer, mobile device, or electronic logging/device skills Physical Requirements Must be able to safely climb in and out of commercial vehicles and trailersMust be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and work around equipment and moving partsMust be able to handle securement equipment such as chains, binders, straps, tarps, and related toolsMust be able to work outdoors in varying conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and fumesMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust have the vision, coordination, and awareness needed to safely operate commercial vehicles, follow route requirements, and secure loads Work Environment This position works primarily in outdoor, yard, road, industrial, construction, crane, and customer job-site environments. Conditions may include temperature changes, elevated noise levels, dust, fumes, uneven surfaces, moving mechanical parts, active equipment, and heavy vehicle traffic.
