Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive commercial vehicles, including but not limited to tractor trailers, tankers, roll-offs, and box trucks, in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of our Emergency Response team (optional).
- Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to disposal or recycling facilities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate digital logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status, following all applicable DOT regulations.
- Complete all required manifest paperwork and documentation accurately.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
- Aid with loading and unloading of materials as needed.
- Properly secure loads to ensure safe & compliant transportation of materials.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to maintain industry knowledge and skills.
- Travel overnight as required to complete assigned routes, including trips lasting two or more consecutive days.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Active Hazmat & Tanker endorsement.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC).
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday).
- Ability to work overtime on a regular basis.
- Must be able to travel overnight 2+ days per week.
- Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts.
- The Driver position frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and (add this part if they are on ER) responsible for taking on and taking off personal protective equipment.
- This role is considered safety-sensitive.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles.
- Previous experience in environmental services or related field (preferred).
