Key Responsibilities
- Operate CDL Class A trucks to haul equipment, materials and debris
- Be familiar with and have the ability to operate a walking floor trailer to transport and dump mulch
- Load and unload equipment such as excavators, skid steers and other heavy machinery
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance (fluid checks, tires, lights, brakes)
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate with project management, superintendents and crews to coordinate deliveries
- Adhere to all company safety policies, DOT regulations and environmental standards
- Assist with site-related tasks when not driving
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Prior experience hauling mulch and utilizing a walking floor trailer
- Prior experience transporting heavy equipment (preferred)
- Knowledge of DOT rules and safe hauling practices
- Ability to properly secure loads with chains, binders, straps and tarps
- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to travel to job sites (per diem provided where applicable)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and drive for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for loading/unloading or maintenance needs
- Comfortable working outdoors in rugged environments
