About the role

Food and food-service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our CDL-A Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local, over-the-road, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes, delivering and unloading food and food-related products to customers safely and on time in accordance with DOT regulations. Drivers are the face of our company, building lasting customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections of tractor, trailer, and freight according to DOT regulations and company standards; report any safety issues or needed repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies; report hazards immediately.
  • Verify trailer loads: count items, check invoices, and secure freight.
  • Complete all required paperwork legibly and accurately (logs, delivery receipts, damage reports, returns, etc.).
  • Drive to customer locations and deliver orders on schedule; unload products into designated storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and follow company policy for removing damaged orders.
  • Obtain customer signatures and collect payments (cash/checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure all equipment is locked/secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and returns at driver check-in; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Remove trash and equipment from trailers; maintain cleanliness of tractor, trailer, and loading dock.
  • Record hours of service in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
  • Current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (two-wheeler, lift gate, etc.) to move and stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, early morning start. Local routes; no nights, no weekends.

Pay

$75,000/year average, with potential to earn over $75,000 in the first year.
